• The mission of the Women in Leadership Committee is to "Empower women to build community across professions through education and networking opportunities." 
• The Women in Leadership Committee was created to give women within Brookings and surrounding communities a gathering opportunity that is uniquely their own - a place to network and connect as well as to learn and engage.
• The Women in Leadership Committee is comprised of volunteers who are selected through an application process. Committee members are sought to provide a balanced skill set and have major responsibility for developing and promoting the mission, programs, and image of Women in Leadership.
• Applicants must be a member of the Chamber or work for a business who is a Chamber member. 
• A high level of commitment is expected to accomplish the Women in Leadership's mission and goals.
• Committee member qualifications will include leadership experience, a team player, effective listening, able to commit time and resources, and to be a representative of a Chamber member business/organization.
• Committee member's term is three years; may be re-elected once.
• Committee member's commitment is to attend monthly meetings regularly, dedicate approximately 3-6 hours per month, attend and help with committee sponsored events, and attend the annual Strategic Planning Session.
• The Women in Leadership Committee is comprised of a Chair, Vice Chair, Past Chair, up to 12 committee members, Chamber staff liaison, and optional Chamber board liaison. 
• Resignation from the Women in Leadership Committee must be in writing to the committee Chair.
